Fall Workshop Part One with Amber Royer

Plotting a Powerful Short Story

Comic science fiction author Amber Royer will help us learn how to develop a plot for a powerful short story.  We will learn to structure both the scene and story level and learn about the power of the scene and sequel and why different short stories demand other plot formats.

Bio:

Amber Royer writes the CHOCOVERSE comic telenovela-style foodie-inspired space opera series. Amber has been teaching creative writing to writers of all genres for over a decade in North Texas for both UT Arlington Continuing Education and Writing Workshops Dallas. In the summer, she holds camps and workshops for teen writers. She is also the author of Story Like a Journalist: a Workbook For Novelists, which boils down her writing knowledge into an actionable plan involving over 100 worksheets to build a comprehensive story plan for your novel. If you are very nice to her, she might make you cupcakes. You can find her blogging about creative writing technique and people she’s met who do craft chocolate over at www.amberroyer.com
