“Books with Hooks” Fall Seminar

  • Richardson Women's Club 2005 North Cliffe Richardson, Texas, 75082 United States (map)

Books with Hooks, presented by WGT Vice President Jolea Broome, will peel back the elusive agent perspective on your novel's first chapter. You'll learn the do's and dont's that agents look for when they receive your manuscript. Whether you are writing fiction or a memoir, there is something here for you to discover. We'll have exercises to help you delve into your first pages as well as time to reflect on how you can make your first pages shine. Bring two printed copies of your first chapter, a pen or pencil and a willingness to wade through your pages with an agent's mindset.

Free for members. Non-members can pay $35 and get entry to the seminar, an annual WGT membership that goes through December of 2027, and a free entry to the Flash Fiction contest! You can pay via Paypal on the WGT website or pay at the door using cash or check.
